It is a moment of great pride and celebration for Delta State. Our very own Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has been elected as the Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria.
The election took place on Monday during the General Meeting of the Conference in Abuja. Leaders from across the country gathered to choose a new head, and Rt. Hon. Guwor emerged as the clear choice to lead this important body.
This is not just a personal win for the Speaker, it is a major win for Delta State. By taking this role, Rt. Hon. Guwor has placed our state at the center of national leadership. This position will strengthen ties between the different state houses across Nigeria. It will improve laws by sharing best practices between states. And give Delta State a stronger voice in national discussions.
As a state, we have watched Rt. Hon. Guwor lead our assembly with wisdom and dedication. His rise to the national stage shows that his hard work has been noticed by his peers across the federation.
We are confident that his time as Chairman will bring positive changes and better coordination to the legislative arm of government in Nigeria.
