Nigerian Cities Prepare for Influx of Visitors as “Eternal Happiness” Conventions Kick Off.

DELTA/EDO — Local economies in 44 Nigerian cities are preparing for a significant boost as the “Eternal Happiness” convention series begins this month. These annual gatherings, hosted by Jehovah’s Witnesses, are famous for drawing thousands of delegates who fill local hotels, eat at restaurants, and utilize transportation services.

While the economic impact is clear, the primary goal of the event is the well-being of the community. Local spokesman for Jehovah’s witnesses, Isaac Phil-Etanireri noted that the convention provides a unique space for people to find mental and spiritual refreshment. “We invite our neighbors to join us for these three days. It is a chance to step away from the anxieties of life and focus on something positive,” he said. “Our goal is to show that spirituality can be a very practical tool for improving your family life and your personal outlook.”

What Attendees Will Experience.

Practical Advice: Sunday’s program features a featured talk titled “Go In Through the Narrow Gate,” which offers guidance on making choices that lead to long-term success and joy.

Multi-Media Presentations: The convention uses dozens of short videos and interviews to show how people from all walks of life are applying Bible principles today.

A Global Connection: As part of a worldwide series, attendees in Nigeria will be watching the same program being presented in hundreds of languages across the globe.

The sessions run from Friday through Sunday. Each day includes a midday break for lunch, allowing attendees to socialize and reflect on the morning’s highlights. There are no collections taken at these events. More information can be found under the “About Us” section on jw.org.
