The Tobuyei family has officially announced the final rites for their patriarch, Late Pa. Zimughan Moses Tobuyei, popularly known as “Papa White,” who passed away at the age of 99.
The ceremonies begin on Tuesday, 27th January, 2026, with a Service of Songs at 4:00 P.M at St. Andrew’s Anglican Cathedral in Warri. On Friday, 30th January, 2026, his body will leave Warri at 7:00 A.M for his home in Amabulou Town, arriving at the Poubiri Compound by 9:00 A.M. A funeral service will follow at 10:00 A.M, leading to his interment at 1:00 P.M and a reception at 2:00 P.M. The celebrations will conclude with a Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, 1st February, 2026, at 10:00 A.M back at St. Andrew’s Anglican Cathedral, Warri.
Born in 1926, Pa. Tobuyei lived a remarkable life that spanned nearly a hundred years of history. His passing marks the end of an era for the Amabulou community and the many lives he touched across Delta and Bayelsa States.
Known for his warmth, and nicknamed “Papa White,” he was a symbol of wisdom and longevity, leaving behind a massive family tree that includes 26 children, 71 grandchildren and extends even to great grandchildren a great-great-grandchild.
As the family prepares to bid him a final farewell, they invite friends and well-wishers to join them in honoring a life truly well-spent.
