The Society for the Welfare of Unemployed Youths of Nigeria (SWUYN) marks its 10th anniversary with a grand three-day celebration from March 10th to 12th, 2026, at the prestigious De Elis Event Center along DSC Expressway, Udu. This milestone event promises inspiration, networking, and actionable pathways to empower the next generation of leaders.
Founded in 2016 amid rising youth unemployment challenges, SWUYN has transformed countless lives through skill-building workshops, job placement drives, entrepreneurial grants, and advocacy for youth-friendly policies. Over the past decade, the society has touched over 50,000 young Nigerians, fostering self-reliance in sectors like agriculture, digital skills, and creative industries. “Our mission remains unwavering: to turn unemployment into opportunity,” says Comrade Preye V. Tambou, the National President. “This anniversary is not just a party—it is a launchpad for the future.
“The three-day extravaganza kicks off on March 10th with an opening ceremony featuring keynote speeches from government dignitaries, industry captains, and youth advocates. Attendees will enjoy live performances, cultural displays, and a youth talent showcase highlighting SWUYN’s impact.
Day two, March 11th, dives into empowerment with parallel workshops on vocational training, digital entrepreneurship, and financial literacy. Renowned facilitators from across Nigeria will lead sessions, complemented by career fairs connecting participants to real job opportunities.The finale on March 12th culminates in an awards gala, honoring top volunteers, partners, and youth achievers. A strategic planning forum will outline SWUYN’s vision for the next decade, including nationwide expansion and tech-driven job platforms.
This event at De Elis Event Center—known for its modern facilities and accessibility—expects over 5,000 participants from Delta State and beyond.
