Warri, Delta State – Comrade Victor Warefa, a leading political voice within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, has issued a powerful statement, declaring that any protest against Tantita Security Services and its pipeline surveillance contract is, in essence, a protest against the Nigerian nation itself and against the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who awarded the vital contract.
Speaking unequivocally in Warri, Comrade Warefa asserted that the contract awarded to Tantita Security Services, led by High Chief Government Ekpemupolo (aka Tompolo), is a critical national security initiative that has demonstrably turned the tide against crude oil theft and pipeline vandalism, which had previously bled the Nigerian economy dry.
“Let it be unequivocally clear: the decision to engage Tantita Security Services was a strategic one, made in the national interest, and directly endorsed by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Comrade Warefa declared. “Therefore, any protest aimed at undermining this contract is not just a protest against Tantita, but a direct challenge to the efforts of the Nigerian government to secure its primary economic lifeline and a deliberate attempt to sabotage the ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda of President Tinubu.”
Comrade Warefa emphasized the dire state of Nigeria’s oil production prior to Tantita’s involvement, where daily output had plummeted significantly due to the audacious activities of oil thieves. He highlighted that Tantita’s operational efficiency has led to a remarkable rebound in crude oil production, contributing significantly to national revenue and economic stability.
“Before Tantita’s engagement, our nation was losing billions of dollars daily to a criminal enterprise that was audacious and seemingly unstoppable. The courage and effectiveness with which Tantita has tackled this menace have been nothing short of extraordinary,” he noted. “The increase in our oil output is a direct result of Tantita’s relentless efforts. To protest against this success is to implicitly endorse the continuation of oil theft and to work against Nigeria’s economic recovery.”
The APC chieftain further underscored President Tinubu’s commitment to national security and economic prosperity. He explained that the President’s decision to maintain and support the Tantita contract reflects a pragmatic approach to governance, prioritizing results and national interest above any other consideration.
“President Tinubu is a leader who is resolute in his commitment to the welfare and prosperity of all Nigerians. His administration recognized the efficacy of Tantita’s operations and took the bold step to continue and strengthen this crucial partnership,” Comrade Warefa stated. “To protest against a decision that has brought tangible economic benefits to the nation is to question the wisdom and commitment of the President to the well-being of Nigeria.”
Comrade Warefa warned against the politicization or tribalization of such a critical national security matter, urging those behind such protests to consider the broader implications of their actions on national development and the confidence of investors. He stressed that the fight against oil theft is a battle for Nigeria’s economic future, and all patriotic citizens should rally behind the efforts of the government and its partners.
“This is not about any one individual or group; it is about Nigeria. The gains made in curbing oil theft are for the benefit of every Nigerian citizen, from Lagos to Maiduguri, and from Calabar to Sokoto,” he concluded. “Those who protest against Tantita are, by extension, protesting against the economic stability of Nigeria and the commendable efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to put our nation back on a path of sustainable growth.”
