WARRI, DELTA STATE – In a significant assessment of public sentiment, Comrade Victor Warefa, a highly respected Niger Delta visionary leader, has affirmed that the public perception of High Chief (Dr.) Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, aka Tompolo, and Tantita Security Services Limited has largely been positive.

Speaking from Warri, Comrade Warefa highlighted the tangible impacts of Tantita’s work in the region as the driving force behind this favorable view, particularly among those who have directly witnessed the benefits.

Comrade Warefa’s statement comes amidst ongoing efforts by Tantita to curb crude oil theft in the Niger Delta, a mission that has seen remarkable successes and, inevitably, faced challenges including smear campaigns from those whose illicit businesses have been disrupted. However, according to the visionary leader, these negative narratives have largely failed to sway the general populace, especially those who can see the undeniable positive changes on the ground.

“The truth is evident for all to see,” Comrade Warefa stated emphatically. “When Tantita came on board, our oil production was at an all-time low, and our environment was being ravaged by endless spills from illegal bunkering and refining. Now, the situation is vastly different. The people of the Niger Delta, and indeed all Nigerians, are seeing the direct benefits of Tantita’s relentless work.

“Comrade Warefa elaborated on the key reasons behind this overwhelmingly positive public perception:

– Improved National Oil Output: “The most critical factor is the significant increase in Nigeria’s crude oil production,” he pointed out. “This translates directly to more revenue for the nation, which means better infrastructure, more social services, and greater economic stability. The public understands that this improvement is a direct result of Tantita’s efforts.”

– Restoration of Environmental Sanity: “For too long, our rivers and farmlands were choked with crude oil. Our aquatic life was decimated,” Comrade Warefa lamented. “But now, communities are reporting cleaner waterways, fish are returning, and the air quality is improving in areas where illegal refineries once thrived. This restoration of environmental sanity is profoundly appreciated by the affected communities, who see Tantita as their liberator from pollution.”

– Job Creation and Economic Empowerment: “Tantita’s inclusive approach has created thousands of jobs for our youths and community members,” he highlighted. “This provides legitimate livelihoods, reduces idleness, and offers a viable alternative to involvement in criminal activities. When people’s lives are positively impacted through legitimate employment, their perception of the organization responsible will naturally be positive.”

– Enhanced Security and Reduced Criminality: “The visible reduction in large-scale oil theft and pipeline vandalism has brought a greater sense of security to many communities,” Comrade Warefa added. “People feel safer, and the disruptive activities of criminal syndicates have been significantly curtailed. This peace of mind fosters a positive view of Tantita.”

– Tompolo’s Trusted Leadership: “High Chief (Dr ) Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, aka Tompolo, enjoys immense trust and respect within the Niger Delta,” Comrade Warefa explained. “His understanding of the region, his commitment to its people, and his proven track record have instilled confidence. His leadership of Tantita naturally garners widespread support from the communities.”

Comrade Warefa acknowledged that there might be isolated voices of dissent, often fueled by those who have lost out on illicit gains. However, he stressed that these are isolated incidents that do not reflect the broader, overwhelmingly positive sentiment. “The public, especially those living closest to the impact of oil theft, are discerning. They know who is genuinely fighting for their well-being and the nation’s future,” Comrade Warefa concluded.

The palpable improvements in crude oil production and the environmental healing of the Niger Delta are undeniable facts that shape this overwhelmingly positive public perception of Tompolo and Tantita.
