“Eternal Happiness” Convention Series Set to Begin Across Nigeria.

DELTA / EDO — At a time when many feel overwhelmed by the stresses of daily life, a massive educational event is coming to Nigeria to offer a different perspective. Starting May 15, 2026, Jehovah’s Witnesses will launch their annual convention series, this year themed “Eternal Happiness.”

The program is designed to be a practical guide for people of all backgrounds. Isaac Phil-Etanireri, a local spokesman for the organization, emphasized the importance of the event’s timing. “In today’s world, happiness can feel like a fleeting emotion,” Phil-Etanireri stated. “This year’s theme was chosen to show that joy isn’t just a lucky accident. We will discuss how to build a life that remains happy even when things get difficult. We want everyone in attendance to leave with a sense of hope that is based on solid facts from the Bible.”

The convention is a massive undertaking, spanning 17 weekends and appearing in 44 different Nigerian cities. To ensure no one is left out, the program will be presented in 24 languages, including several local Nigerian dialects.

Over one million people are expected to attend nationwide, joining millions more at similar events in countries like Portugal, Thailand, and South Africa.

Key Program Features:

The Life of Jesus: A major highlight is the debut of Episodes 4, 5, and 6 of “The Good News According to Jesus.” This cinematic series uses the four Gospels to provide a vivid look at the life and teachings of Christ.

Interactive Discourses: The program includes talks such as “Abundant Happiness Forever—Is It Realistic?” which tackles the big question of whether lasting peace is a dream or a possibility.

A Symbol of Faith: On Saturday morning, a live baptism talk and ceremony will be held for new members of the community.

The event is open to the public, and no admission is charged. For a full schedule of dates and locations, visit jw.org.
